FAQ's
It's recommended that you visit your dentist every six months as this timeframe allows us to keep track of any issues that arise and keep your teeth free from plaque build up.
Because of the hazards associated with radiation exposure, many patients are hesitant to have x-rays taken; this is also why many dentists only take x-rays when they are absolutely necessary for your diagnosis or treatment.
X-rays give us extra information about the state of your teeth, revealing any concealed decay, concerns with the roots of your teeth, or problems with your jaw and face bones. Things that we can't see any other way without putting in a lot of effort and costing you a lot of money.
If you're not sure whether x-rays are necessary, ask your dentist to explain why they want or need them.
Imagine for a moment what life would be like if you didn't have all your teeth? or only had a few.
You'd miss being able to laugh without worrying about showing your teeth, you'd discover that you have a whistling lisp too. To top it off your face shape would change as your cheeks slump and your lips get slack with no teeth to keep them in place and eating food would become incredibly difficult.
Life without teeth is quite sad and gets a lot of people down.
This is why visiting your dentist regularly is so important.
Regular check-ups can prevent tooth decay, help with fillings and impacted teeth and stop you from paying more money than you have to down the line.
It's better to have regular checkups where your private health can cover most of the costs than having surgery and forking out a lot of money because you never saw your dentist regularly.
Holding the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle with the bristles pointing at your gum line is the ideal technique to brush your teeth. Because the space between the teeth and the gums is a breeding ground for bacteria and plaque, it's critical to brush this area thoroughly.
When the brush is at the correct angle, it’s just a gentle little jiggle back and forth, brushing only one or two teeth at a time. There's a thin line between brushing too forcefully and brushing too lightly.
Brushing has the goal of getting the bristles into the gap between the teeth to eliminate soft plaque and prevent it from forming.
Brush all of your teeth in a clockwise direction, inside and out. Brushing your teeth in front of a mirror will make it easier to see what you're doing.
Brushing your teeth at least twice a day is recommended. Brush your teeth and gums properly at all times; improper brushing techniques might harm your teeth and gums.
